CONTINUED:  RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS

28. Undisseminated dahlias my be entered in show against classified Dahlias for one year, only.  See page 12 of the classification book for definition.
29. In Classes 1-29, dahlias must be displayed with, at least,  one set/pair of leaves on the stem, set as evenly across from each other, as possible and disbudded. If, visibly disbudded  late, points will be taken off.  Leaves cannot be staged touching the foam or container.  This could be cause for no award given.
30.  Diseased looking leaves and flowers should not be judged and especially not receive a high award.  Green immature centers should never be awarded a ribbon. ​

31.  The Show Committee reserves the right to reject any entry.  The Show Committee may, also, make additions or changes in the rules, which are deemed necessary for the proper conduct of the show.  Any rules so made, shall  be as binding as though they were a published part of these rules.  Judges must adhere to these rules.
32. The society will exercise all possible care of exhibits and containers, but will not assume any responsibility for loss or damage.  You must put your name and phone # on the bottom of the container.  Do not assume the show  committee knows who the container belongs to.  Please try to pick up your own belongings, after the show has ended, on Sunday, after .  It is not anyone else's responsibility, unless you have made arrangements with someone else.  Even if, you have made arrangements with someone, you need to put your name and phone number in an inconscpicuous place, such as on the bottom of the item.  Please.

34.  Only named dahlias can be classified by senior judges.  Limit of only two per exhibitor, unless, arrangements are made ahead of time.  They can only be judged after the senior judge/s have completed their staging and staging area is cleaned up.  Dahlias must be classified two hours before judging/clerk meeting.  It is preferable that you make arrangements for classification, of unclassified dahlias, ahead of time, if at all possible. Everyone is busy staging,  including judges.  They can only classify if they have time and their  staging is complete and their staging space is cleaned up.
35.  All staging areas must be cleaned up before judging can begin.  Let's all pitch in with this task.  Please

36. Only named dahlias can be classified by senior judges.  Limit of only two per exhibitor, unless, arrangements are made ahead of time.  They can only be judged after the senior judge/s have completed their staging and the judges staging area has been cleaned up.   Dahlias must be classified  two hours before the  judge's  & clerk's  meeting.   Everyone is busy staging,  including the judges.  If a dahlia doesn't get classified it will not be set back.  The judges can take the time to classify, if only one entered by you dahlia.  It must have a name , though.  Due to time limitations, please have your unclassified dahlias classified 2 hours before judging begins.  Thank you

Despite all of the rules, guidelines etc.  We are going to have fun.  If everything is done as we have asked, it will really save us a lot of time in the end.  Thank you for joining us and GOOD LUCK!!!
